Eletricat Dance is Directed by Brazilian Dancer Eletricat A.K.A. Thaissa, who has been performing, teaching and choreographing around the UK and abroad since 1997.

Eletricat has trained with the following schools/groups:

  • Danca de Salao do Recife – ballroom style Samba & Brazilian dances
  • Bale Popular do Recife – street dances from north-east Brazil
  • Maracatu Estrela Brilhante
  • Orixa Dances with Bale Popular da Bahia
  • Grupo Abolicao Capoeira e Danca Afro - continuous since 2004 including various workshops with other groups around Brazil & the UK
  • Marcelo Pereira – Contemporary dance Grupo Zen
  • Casa de Yoga in Rosarinho, Recife
  • Ballet, Jazz and Modern with various groups in Scotland
  • Attended various workshops in tribal belly-dance & street dance

Eletricat has been promoting Brazilian events in the UK mainly in Glasgow Scotland since 1997. She is a regular DJ at her club nights and events but has also worked as a DJ at various other club & corporate events, weddings and engagement parties, Festivals including for the radio – interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland and played for Sunny Govan Radio and Radio Magnetic.

Eletricat has provided Festivals, corporate & private events such as The Young Scot Awards by the Daily Record and including weddings and engagement parties with Samba Dance Shows, Capoeira acrobatic shows, Brazilian DJs & Samba Bands since 1997.

 

Eletricat performs with various Bands, DJs - like Tigerstyle DJs, and with other dance groups like Clan Macondo in theatre productions.

Since 2005 Eletricat coordinates the movement part of a project, together with Ronnie Goodman and Rhythm Wave in Perthshire with Primary School kids. Through this project she has had the pleasure to work with one of Brazil’s internationally renowned and most important percussionist - Nana vasconcelos.

 

In October 2011, Eletricat promoted SCOTLANDS NEXT SAMBA DANCER in partnership with creative media company UP NEXT STUDIOS, VIVA BRAZIL RESTAURANTS, STOW COLLEGE & ARTA GLASGOW.

Eletricat is a regular monthly performer at VIVA BRAZIL RESTAURANT IN GLASGOW since it opened in Oct 2011.
